Basketball Wrap

Our Lady Lancer Gold basketball team capped off an outstanding season by beating previously undefeated Foothill Christian. This resulted in our girls tying with Foothill for the SGVCSL Co-Championship, with a 9-1 record. Coach Mac and Thomas found it a privilege to coach this wonderful team of athletes who represented Western in a Christ-like manner the entire season. We will miss our 8th graders, pictured above during their last-game ceremony.

The awards were as followed:
Hailey Beaman - Outstanding Offensive Player
Ariana Holmes - Outstanding Defensive Player
Jordyn Ivey - Coach's Award
Hannah Thomas - Lady Lancer Award
Barbara Smith - MVP

Brendan Psilangkul - MVP
Our boys Gold basketball team had many shining moments on the court and dropped some very close games, ending with a 5-5 record. Coach Cannon not only taught his athletes basketball fundamentals, but life lessons as well. Thank you Cannon!

The Lady Lancer Blue basketball team ended their season with a 5-3 record, taking second place in league. First-year coach Brittney Entrikin did a marvelous job molding these young athletes into ballers. It was so gratifying to see Brittney, a former Lady Lancer and MVP of the 2002 WC championship team, return to the program as a coach. Kaya Brandl did a fantastic job as team captain leading her team. Kaya was awarded MVP.

New to our program, coach Carlos Garcia was a welcome addition. Coach Carlos exhibited the perfect balance between discipline and encouragement in coaching our Blue Lancer team to a 3rd place finish. Thank you for preparing our athletes for the next level Coach!
